Due to high demand, please understand that it may take time for our artists to respond to inquiries. Some of our artists may have their books closed, meaning they are not currently accepting new appointments. This will be clearly indicated here or on the booking page.
When an artist’s books are closed, they may not be notified of incoming requests and could take significantly longer to respond. We will update their availability when it changes, and you can also email us at cygnitattoostudio@gmail.com to ask to be put on a notification list for when their books reopen.
While our artists will do their best to reply as quickly as possible once their books are open, please note that they may still be very busy and responses may take several days or longer.

Founder & Tattoo Artist
Gretchen is passionate about empowering her clients to make self-affirming decisions and to connect with their bodies through tattooing. She works in a thorough, intentional process to create tattoos for all bodies. She loves the PNW landscapes, painting, cooking, and doing yoga. On days away from the studio, she loves to get out in nature with her husband, Kenny, and their two dogs, Olive and Poppy. Originally from Kansas City, MO, she began tattooing in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2019 but now loves to call the PNW home. The interconnectedness of nature inspires her art. Using imagery from nature and the occult, she creates surreal relationships in her work.

Lin Doyle
Tattoo Artist
Lin is an illustrator and tattoo artist who specializes in illustrative tattoos with storybook vibes and character-based illustrations with a narrative bent. A PNW transplant, Lin moved from Northwest Arkansas in 2023, and now lives in Tacoma with her wife and four fur babies.

Sam Bradley
Tattoo Artist
Sam specializes in illustrative black and grey tattoos - focusing primarily on designs of plants and animals. She loves to create designs that capture the essence of the natural world, while also incorporating more surreal and whimsical elements. Insects and fish are her favorite, and she loves to pull inspiration from the many bugs in her collection. Aside from tattooing - Sam loves the Tacoma music scene, travelling to new places, and sci-fi movies.

Marcus is a Tattoo Artist and Illustrator specializing in Japanese art, he also enjoys tattooing cool lady faces and comic book characters, as well as blackletter and script lettering! He works in Black & Grey or Traditional Color. A PNW transplant moving from Alaska in 2018.

El Ronan
Tattoo Artist
El is a tattoo artist and printmaker, specializing in illustrative black and grey tattoos. They aim to provide a space for their clients to be vulnerable, honest, and at ease, and does so by practicing consent based tattooing. Making sure their clients are informed during every stage of their tattoo, they are happy to answer any questions and walk you through their process.
All of El’s designs start in a sketchbook, because it’s easier for them to think on paper than on a screen. They have a BFA in printmaking and a BS in biology, both of which inspire their artistic style. They enjoy drawing anything nature themed, with a distinct dark-illustrative vibe, and is always excited to take on a challenging concept.
Outside of art, El is an avid reader, hockey player, and daydreamer. Moving around all their life, there’s not really one place they call home, but is happy to have finally settled in the PNW. -
Bee Rosmyth
Tattoo Artist
Bee is a tattoo artist with a focus on body positivity and illustrative tattoos. She loves creating tattoos featuring animals, the human form, or anything nerdy. Her artwork often plays with line weight and texture to create a unique, interesting style.

Bekah Culp
Tattoo Artist
Bekah is a tattooer with a deep love for both art and people. They specialize in traditional inspired designs while adding a slightly softer, unique, energy to them. She loves high contrast designs, thick lines, dot work, and symmetry.
Outside of the studio- she can often be found drawing, trying new coffee shops, or spending time with her dogs. They also love the outdoors, travel, plants, cooking, painting, and astrology.

Erika is a fine line tattoo artist with over five years of experience as a full time artist. Her work focuses on clean linework, soft realism, and nature-inspired designs. Her favorite subjects include fish, birds, mushrooms, bugs, and organic details and textures. She loves creating tattoos that feel intentional, personal, and built to age well.
Erika brings a goofy, easygoing energy to the studio and is all about making clients feel comfortable, and genuinely excited about their tattoo. She loves collaborating and making sure every client leaves happy and confident with their design.

With a background in math and science, Kenny is passionate about growth and expanding his understanding. He eagerly takes on challenging projects that offer opportunities for development and learning.
His work reflects a quiet appreciation for the wonders of life and enjoys the celebratory energy that comes from decorating one’s body.

Laurenn Stipes
Laurenn is a tattoo artist with 9 years of experience and a BFA in fine arts with a focus in painting and illustration. Specializing in vibrant full color, micro realism, and whimsical designs that feel like they were pulled from the pages of a vintage storybook.
For Laurenn, tattooing is as much about connection as it is about craft. She takes time to understand what a piece means to the person wearing it, and designs with that meaning at the center. Every client leaves with something that feels unmistakably theirs.
When she’s not tattooing, she’s working on her graphic novel, playing Magic the gathering, being a mom, and finding inspiration in the strange and beautiful corners of everyday life.

Rabbit Foot
Tattoo Artist
Rabbit is an illustrator and tattoo artist with a focus on illustrative storytelling through creatures. They enjoy fantasy and whimsy, especially with a dark twist. Rabbit works primarily in black and grey, but also loves taking on color projects as well!
When they aren’t tattooing, Rabbit loves hiking with their two dogs, Willoughby and Juno, or relaxing at home watching horror movies with their three cats, Robert, Monkey and Therese. Rabbit’s work is deeply inspired by the fantastical intertwined with the natural world around us.

Saniderm: leave saniderm on your tattoo for 4-5 days. When removing the saniderm, it helps to do it under warm water. Don’t peel up, instead pull out and away from your skin. If you notice a reaction to saniderm or it starts to fall off, remove it immediately.
Once the wrap is removed, clean your tattoo with antibacterial soap. Wash your tattoo twice a day and more frequently if it comes in contact with anything that may carry bacteria.
Air dry or lightly dab your tattoo with a paper towel. Do not use cloth towels to dry your tattoo.
Use a thin layer of unscented lotion on your tattoo when needed. Do not oversaturate your tattoo with lotion. This will cause the ink to fall out.
Do not itch or pick at your tattoo when it’s healing.
Don’t expose your tattoo to direct sunlight. Wear breathable clothing that covers your tattoo when you’re in the sun for 3-4 weeks. Once your tattoo is healed, wear sunscreen.
No soaking in water until your tattoo is healed. Showers are okay. You can shower in saniderm.
If you notice your tattoo is not healing as expected, please contact your artist. If you notice any signs of infection, please contact your doctor. If you have any questions at all feel free to send a message!

Each artist prices and schedules their own work.

When artists are busy it may take them some time to reply. And they will usually publicly state whether their books are open or closed on social media accounts etc. If their books are closed it may be worth contacting another artist if you don't wish to wait.

We usually do not. We are an appointment-only shop.
That being said, often an artist may be able to help you out on short notice, so feel free to check!

You can expect a warm and welcoming shop! You’ll first check in, stencil your tattoo, and get tattooed. Sometimes, tattoos can be uncomfortable and take longer than expected. We encourage breaks when needed. It is always possible to pause and continue in a different session. Bring snacks, water, and comfortable clothing. As a shop, we want to accommodate everyone’s needs to the best of our ability. Please let your artist know if we can do anything to make you more comfortable.

Yes, tattoos hurt. :( We work with Bactine once the outlines are in. To best help the pain: drink a lot of water, sleep, and eat filling/nutrient-rich foods the week before your tattoo. Avoid alcohol the week before your tattoo. Let your artist know if you need to take breaks to stretch and/or eat snacks during your tattoo.
